My chia pet finally has a (very patchy) coat after two or three years of failed attempts and laziness. I was going to put it in my "donate" bag but decided to give it another shot since I had some chia seeds in the pantry. It's sporting a pretty impressive comb-over.

Ok, so I'm bending the rules little since this is not my own photo, but at least I'm posting, right?
This is how I often imagine walks with my dogs, but the reality is usually quite different... Someone goes completely nuts barking at every other dog who passes, making a sound that my sister has dubbed "chimpanzee set on fire and covered in ants." (This is a very accurate description). Someone else eats anything and everything off the ground and has recently developed a nasty cigarette habit. Today that same someone ate a wad of bloody bandaging that had thoughtfully been discarded on the street. I was looking up at a lovely bit of rainbow in the (finally sunny) sky and got distracted. I'm just going to gaze at this photo for a while and try not to think about the inevitable regurgitation...
This photo of Foxy was from a week or so ago, when the sun was still shining. I am a big fan of foggy, gloomy days, but I must admit it's nice when the sun makes an occasional appearance. You know what they say about variety and all. I tend to lose track of the days when the weather is unchanging.
Back in November I found myself very nostalgic for the Harry Potter series (maybe because my niece & nephew had just started reading them for the first time). I decided to re-read the series and am now on the final book. If you've read HP, you know the last couple of books are pretty dark. The gloom outside is certainly enhancing my reading experience. ;)
I packed away all of my Christmas decorations nearly two weeks ago, but I forgot one... I hosted a little festive-crafty get-together with some lady friends the Christmas before last, and we made these. It was funny to see how differently they turned out even though we all used the same materials. (I probably have a photo of all of them together somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look for it.) I can't bear to hide this away in the attic just yet.
