Jeez, has it really been so long since my last post? Well, I'm stealing moment to pop in and offer feeble excuses for my long absence... First I'm happy to say that I had a lovely visit with my BFF and an amazingly peaceful, restful, lovely, lovely, lovely trip to Colorado! I have lots of pictures to share, but they will have to wait for another day. Unfortunately, since my return I have been busier (and more stressed) than ever with my day-job and am now dealing with Crisis #1,847...
My sweet Andy broke his arm (quite severely) while... arm-wrestling. Yes, arm-wrestling! I bet you didn't know that could happen, did you? (Except in some bad action flick starring Steven Seagal...) It's kind of funny in that tragic sort of way. Not really so surprising considering that Andy once broke his foot while checking the mail (no joke)... The scary part is that Andy has to undergo a pretty serious surgery this Friday. He is being remarkably patient and brave about it all. We're both trying to keep a positive attitude, but it's not always easy.
I have chosen not to share many details of my life with the vast blogosphere, so you'll have to trust me when I say it's been a rough year.... So rough, in fact, that I almost want to laugh when something else goes wrong. It could always be worse, of course, but I think Andy & I have just about reached our breaking point. We're a bit fed up with waiting for the next awful thing. That is why I'm offering up this plea:
Dear person with the voodoo dolls / vengeful gods/ poorly aligned planets,
I'm on to you! Enough already. Please give us an f-ing break.

Things have been so crazy down in my end of the world that I'm only just catching up on my fave blogs now and it seems I'm behind on the news!
I am so sorry to hear about Andy breaking his arm, on top of so many other crappy things happening. If you like, I can go kick whoever is using the voodoo doll in the knees for you :-) I guess one day you'll be able to laugh at the whole thing (especially the arm wrestling bit!) but when you're in the middle of it, it just sucks! Hang in there and be kind to your precious self xo
