Oops... I seemed to have wandered off the blogging path again. Where have I been for two months? Let's see... Working, gardening, sewing, doggy wrangling, trapeze-ing, celebrating a (gulp) 36th birthday, catching up with family, co-hosting a bridal shower, entertaining lovely house guests... And I mustn't forget a fun little adventure in Los Angeles last month! I hope you'll forgive me for cramming five blog posts into one. Again.
First things first, I would like to introduce three new friends who have made their way into my shop!
It has been quite a while since I completed any larger sized softies. These three cuties were floating around my studio for weeks & weeks before I managed to steal enough time to bring them to full fruition. Life always seems to get crazy when I begin working on these... I don't mean crazy in a bad way, more in the busy and pulled in a million directions sort of way. It happens so consistently that I am almost superstitious about them.
I have made some slight changes to the tiny birds, specifically their beaks.
I love the new look!
My hubby was touring again with The Music Tapes and was gone pretty much the whole month of May, so it was good to be extra-crazy busy with all the aforementioned things... I wanted to meet up with Andy in one of the many fun cities on his tour, and choosing just one city was so hard. (Um, Portland? Seattle? San Francisco? Chicago? New Orleans?) In the end I picked Los Angeles since my BFF & her husband recently relocated there. It was a bit of a whirlwind, but I had such a good time! My second visit to the City of Angels left me just as confounded & smitten as my first... I just don't know how to explain Los Angeles other than to say it's unlike any other place I've ever been. I saw lots of great art, spent long hours catching up with my very dearest friend, and had the best afternoon ever at Venice Beach with Andy and several friends. It was unexpected, and that made it so much sweeter... I had already said a very tearful goodbye to Andy, who was scheduled to leave for the next leg of his tour but ended up stuck in the city. (Thank you, Los Angeles traffic!)
Please forgive me for posting waaayyy too many photos...

I also went to a FANTASTIC Gary Baseman exhibit at the Skirball Cultural Center... If you're in Los Angeles any time soon, I highly recommend it!

What a fun adventure! A visit to Los Angeles somehow doesn't seem complete without a celebrity sighting, and I finally had mine. My one & only brush with fame!
(Photo found somewhere on the interwebs... I apologize for not recalling the source.)
There is so much more I'd love to share, but I have to get on with my day. I'm hoping to re-stock some pouches in my shop in the next couple of weeks. Maybe I'll even make another blog appearance.
